Salma Hayek
Salma Hayek was born in Mexico, to parents of Spanish and Lebanese descent. Salma Hayek was born in Mexico into a privileged Roman Catholic family. In her early years her dream was to become an actress after watching the film "Willy Woonka & The Chocolate Factory.' In Mexico City, where she studied at the "Universidad Iberoamericana," she felt prepared to enter the world of film. In the Mexican TV show, 'Teresa' she had her debut as an actor. In Hollywood she was chosen to play Antonio Banderas's co-star in 'Desperado. Then came roles in "Fools Rush In" and "Wild Wild West", amongst others. Her role as 'Desperado, of Once Upon a Time in Mexico was reprised. She then started her production company "Ventanarosa". She produced the Mexican film 'El Coronel No Tien Quien Escriba', which was the country's entry to the Oscars under the category "Best Foreign Film.' Her executive production of "Ugly Betty" was a further accomplishment. Her nomination was for Outstanding Guest actress (Comedy Show) for the 59th Primetime Emmy Awards. In addition, she has been an endorser for products like 'Revlon' and 'Avon and launched her own brand of cosmetics, skincare and hair care products dubbed 'Nuance.' Her support has been poured into to collect funds for vaccines against neonatal and maternal tetanus.
