She is most famous for her portrayal of Willie Scott, an American nightclub singer and performer in Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom (1984), which was directed by her eventual husband Steven Spielberg. The film features her in Dreamscape (1984), Power (86), SpaceCamp (1986) The Black Rain(89), Love Affair, Love Affair (1994), Just Cause (1895), and The Love Letter (1999), she has continued to be a star. The portraits of her work have been exhibited in the Smithsonian National Portrait Gallery Capshaw was born Kathleen Sue Nail in Fort Worth, Texas, the daughter of Beverley Sue (nee Simon), a beauty and travel agent and Edwin Leon Nail, an airline employee. At the age of five, she was years old when she relocated to St. Louis, Missouri. She graduated from Hazelwood Senior High School. Capshaw graduated from the University of Missouri with a education degree. Additionally, she was a member of Alpha Delta Pi. She taught Special Education at Southern Boone High School in Ashland, Missouri, and Rock Bridge High School in Columbia, Missouri.
